The second, NEW, option is a 3 Month Goal WorkShop. As I’ve helped women improve their health I’ve seen them make AMAZING progress…when they’ve had a specific, time-oriented goal. As I write this we are counting down the hours until one of my ladies’ goals…she, another friend and I will be doing the Hero Hustle Mini Triathlon this weekend. At the beginning of this year the triathlon was a distant goal…maybe something she’d do in a couple years. But then she challenged herself to try it this year and we’re ready to roll (and swim and run) this Sunday! Specific, time-oriented goals give us something tangible to strive for! From September 1st-November 24th I’ll be hosting our first 3 Month Goal WorkShop. Here’s what it’ll have:

- Help defining a specific, time-oriented goal that we can focus on for the next 3 months.
- A Facebook video each week with tips, encouragement and responding to group questions.

How is this different from my year-long program? Well, for starters, it’s only 3 months. 🙂 However, you’ll be using the same curriculum my year-long ladies use so if you choose to stick with us at the end of your goal it’ll be easy! We will cover the building blocks of nutrition in our 3 months: learning to set aside time to actually take care of ourselves, slowing down during meals, eating to 80% full and what constitutes healthy food (produce, protein, fats, and carbs). The habits you’ll learn in these 3 months can be used anywhere, anytime with any food.
The communication in this program is a bit different than my year-long…I will read the responses to daily lessons and respond once a week. Our other form of communication will be on Facebook with a weekly video and, of course, any comments/questions you want to post there. This will allow me to offer the 3 Month Goal WorkShop for only $150!
What kind of goals might you decide to crush? Well, the sky’s the limit on THAT one! A few ideas might be…
- Consistently eating 5 servings of produce per day
- Finding one processed food each week to swap out for a healthier choice
- Decreasing your blood sugar or cholesterol levels
- Getting off/decreasing a prescription medication
- Consistently finding time to plan meals
- Packing lunches instead of eating out
- Working with your family to find healthy foods you all enjoy…and making a list of meals that includes them
- Decreasing or eliminating high-calorie/processed drinks
Or perhaps you have an activity you REALLY want to do…but you’ve let your health slip and you don’t feel up to it. With the pull of work, family, kids, hobbies and normal life it’s easy to let our knees get creaky, a little extra creep around our waistband and our energy dwindle. Maybe your goal would be:
- Cutting out/decreasing foods you know make your body hurt (sugar, bread, processed foods, coffee and dairy are common culprits…although most people don’t need to cut ALL of them out!)
- Eating a healthy breakfast and lunch so you have energy to go for a walk after dinner.
- Finding a Turkey Trot 5K race you want to start training for. The Couch to 5k program is fantastic at breaking it down into doable steps!
- Finding a local gym or DVD program that you can try out. Why not try a class you’ve never tried or ask a friend to let you borrow their DVDs so you can see what you like?
- Check out the pool at the YMCA. Kids are back in school and lap swims during the day will be calm. This is a great option if you have achy joints and it’s a fantastic work out!
