Our Bright Spot this weekend is AWESOME!
Hillary and I have been working together for 2.5 months. She has BIG goals and a willingness to experiment and learn. What she DIDN’T have was a local support network. In fact, she didn’t really want to tell anyone in ‘real life’ what she was doing because…what if she failed? (I should mention here: this is the #1 fear cited to me as a coach for not trying something new.)
Over the course of a few conversations I asked Hillary to let people in her life know what she’s doing so she could find support in her daily life. Here’s what she did…
‘First, thank you for encouraging me to reach out and ask for help. That was so freaking scary posting for help on FB, I was so vulnerable…I now have a walking partner and someone who wants to train in running with me and eventually train for the triathlon.’
‘This has literally been one of the hardest most humbling things I’ve done in my entire life. To ask for help…I’ve always viewed as a weakness, but by sharing this has shown me it is good to ask for help…by one sharing their dream other people start believing in themselves too and it is so inspiring and it brings Hope. What a gift to be a part of.’
Hillary has a strong faith in God and was quick to give Him credit for the courage it took to dream…and make that dream public. When she took a step of faith with that courage she found not only work out partners, but a community of friends who are encouraging her and confessing their own dreams!
THIS is why coaches coach! It’s a blast to be there when someone has an ‘AHA!’ moment and sees the potential within themselves. Hillary is just one of the amazing women in our Thrive community who you’ll get to be encouraged by when you join us for our FREE 14-day Spring Cleaning Challenge April 2-15. Registration is open.
